I welcome some of the organisations like BMI putting forward their preferred candidates, however I would like to know what criteria they used for selecting the candidates:

Jack Straw in Balckburn???

Bill Rummell in Harlow? have you seen his criteria including what youelect has quoted?

Gareth Thomas in Harrow East?

Hmm looks like not much attention was paid to even what youelect were reporting.

I think BMI will need to revisit some of the more contentious constituencies and talk to people on the ground

maybe they should be contacted to give their reasons behind some of their stranger selections

some of the guys on the list are a joke.

The uncles who made these decisions should consult the younger generation of Muslims when making such decision.

BMI and unfortunately YouElect may be tainted by this poor choice of candidates.

jack straw...veil!!

Sadiq Khan..where do i start? anti terror leg, palestine etc etc

Looks like the 'uncles' have listened to the hundreds of people who have been vocally against some candidates the BMI have chosen...not all those against some of the candidates are youngsters Yuri mate!

Jack Straw removed

Bill Rammell removed

...replaced by some good candidates ... Leeds NOrth WEst Greg Mulholland - really good on local and national issues, Muslim issues etc.

people make mistakes...atleast BMI are 'man enough' to admit where they may have gone wrong and are rectifying it.

maybe being a young hot head is not always what is best...

age and wisdom...we should have a lot of respect for the brothers in BMI who've taken this stand.

i do not doubt the hard work of the BMI brothers. nor do i doubt their intentions.

aH they have changed their opinion and that is indeed commendable

internal criticism and dialogue is important, MBI's change of mind is evidence of this.

Muslims in the UK are at a stage were we are still selecting the least worst MP - BMI list and any other list would reflect that. But we have to congratulate BMI to have been brave enough and ventured into this path so boldly. They can only get better - but we need to make sure we are there to correct any mistakes they make.
Atleast they listen, unlike other orgs

yeah well done to BMI for admitting the mistakes and coming out clean on the issue. it is difficult to make clear decisions with different variables at stake
